Kenan Football Center and Hall of Honor -

Kidzu Children's Museum -

Charles Kuralt Learning Center -

This unique collection houses the contents of Kuralt's CBS News office, donated by his widow to the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Morehead Planetarium & Science Center -

Orange County Historical Museum -

This museum highlights the history of Orange County from pre-settlement period through the 1950s with a collection of historical documents, furnishings and tools, including a set of Colonial weights and measures and Governor Thomas Burke's desk. Ayr Mount and Poet's Walk -

This Federal-era plantation home was built in 1815 and has been restored and furnished with period antiques, art, porcelain, and original family heirlooms. Occupied by the Ayr family until 1985, visitors can enjoy a tour of the home and meander along the one-mile walking trail along the Eno River. Plantation home tour available Mar. 21 to Dec. 20. Open Wed-Sat from 11am; Thu-Sun, from 2pm. Admission is $10 per person. The walking trail is free and open year round.www.ayrmount.com

Burwell School -

This historic house was home to the prominent Collins family during the Civil War and housed the Burwell School for Young Ladies from 1837-1857. Visitors can enjoy a free, docent-led or self-guided tour that includes a range of exhibits, enjoy a range of cultural events, and experience family programs throughout the year. Chapel Hill Speedway Trail

Occoneechee Speedway Trail -

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this four-mile trail runs through the areas where Native-Americans hunted and farmed, where native son, General Julian S. Carr trained his horses, and where the original NASCAR stock-car racers tested their driving skills during the 40's, 50's and 60's. Open daily, 8am-5pm. www.historicspeedwaygroup.org

Forest Theatre -

This outdoor theater in Battle Park opened in 1916 and was rebuilt in the early 1940s. Both university and community groups perform a range of dramatic plays at the theater during the spring and summer. In addition to the theatrical offerings, visitors can meander the woodland trails that lead into Battle Park from the theater.

Dean E. Smith Center -

Opened in 1986, the Dean E. Smith Center (or the Dean Dome) is a multi-use arena at UNC and home to the Chapel Hill Tar Heels men's basketball team. In addition to basketball games, the Dean Smith Center hosts a range of concerts and is the site of the commencement ceremonies for the UNC School of Law, UNC undergraduate commencements and local high school graduations.

Coker Arboretum -

Occaneechi Indian Village -

Situated on the banks of the Eno River, the Occaneechi Village is one of the last walled American Indian villages visited by European explorers in the 1600s.
